The Foundation

For more than 67 years, the Lyons family has shared a deep and enduring connection to aviation. Our story began with our father, Rolf C. Lyons, who entered military service at just 17 years old when he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955. Since then, aviation has remained an important thread woven throughout our family’s history.

The Lyons Aviation Foundation was created from a heartfelt desire to give back. It reflects the values of generosity, compassion, and service that our parents instilled in our family. Our mission is to help create opportunities for young people who may not otherwise have the financial means to pursue aviation as a career.

This foundation represents our family story—our ties to aviation, military service, and one another. We have been greatly blessed, and we believe strongly in helping others pursue their dreams.
